Untold Stories of Idaho Falls: Uncle Dick

July 1, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Join Soiled Dove and the Museum of Idaho as we uncover the untold stories of Idaho Falls’ past.

Join Soiled Dove and the Museum of Idaho on July 1st for the return of Untold Stories of Idaho Falls, where we uncover the remarkable and often overlooked histories of the past.

This time, Chloe Doucette and Jeff Carr from MOI dive into the untamed story of Dick Chamberlain—a man who wore many hats in the early days of Eagle Rock, Idaho. Saloonkeeper, mayor, cafe owner, bowling alley operator, and billiards hall host, Chamberlain left his mark on nearly every corner of the frontier town.

But Chamberlain’s legacy is complicated. His saloon was as rowdy as it was popular—some patrons left with a drink, others left in a coffin. He operated the town’s first cemetery out of his bar, selling burial plots for $5 apiece—yet kept few records, and many graves were eventually lost to time.

Make sure to try the night’s featured drink: Graveyard Shift – Vanilla bean infused brandy, condensed milk cold foam, espressor, Mr. Black Liqueur, garnished with Mexican cinnamon chocolate.

Don’t miss this riveting evening of storytelling as we explore the legend, contradictions, and frontier grit of one of Idaho’s most colorful—and controversial—early figures.

We will be accepting donations at the event for the Museum of Idaho.
